Fetch is a popular game for dogs and owners. Throw, find, bring back – dummy training is as simple as fun. Some dog breeds, including retrievers, are particularly fond of retrieving and are often a little more talented than others. Here are four dog breeds that could fetch sticks all day.
The dog breed does not play a significant role in fetching – most dogs enjoy the game. However, there are dog breeds that are born with fetching. Some of the species mentioned below were even bred to track down and retrieve shot games and still have a great desire to catch a dummy and bring it back to their master or mistress.
- Retrievers
Retrievers are the ultimate retrievers. Her name derives from the English “to retrieve sth.” = “bring something back” off. The hunting dogs were bred to find feathered game or small game that had been shot and then to carry it to the hunter. There are six retriever breeds recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI):
● Flat-coated retrievers
● Curly-coated retrievers
● Chesapeake Bay Retrievers
● Golden Retrievers
● Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers
● Labrador Retrievers.
- Border Collie
The Border Collie also loves to retrieve. Originally bred as a herding dogs, collies love to be challenged and kept busy. However, the brilliant dogs are sometimes quickly under-challenged with the simple throwing of a dummy – feel free to increase the difficulty in the course of the dummy training.
- Australian Shepard
Like the Border Collie, other herding dogs enjoy retrieval and dummy training. The Australian Shepard, for example, has particular fun with the game. In principle, Australian Shepards should only be kept by active owners who can keep the dog sufficiently busy physically and mentally. A sporty fetch work is a good possibility for this.
- English Springer Spaniel
The English Springer Spaniel is a scavenger dog that is ideal for retrieving. The eldest of English spaniels has always hunted down the game and carried the prey back to the hunter. Even as a family dog, this characteristic is still inherent in him, and he loves to look for and bring dummies.
